A ray of sunshine bounced off of a wood plank laying outside my window, reflected it's image through the glass, bounced off of my chrome snare drum and projected itself on the only wall in my cabin that had it's back to the sun.

Forest Shadows 6 Mile

Heading out to the forest in South Carolina I started to journal the shadows of the leaves as they dried, became lacy shells and fell to the ground.

Alder Creek - Pickens, SC

During a residency program at the Rensing Center in the fall of 2014 I observed the sunlight reflected off of the creek and projected onto an over hanging branch. The rectangle of light was about the size of a TV screen. I recorded this thinking about the tangle of foreground, middle ground and background happening like a puppet show in the middle of the forest.

A ray of sunshine bounced off of a wood plank laying outside my window, reflected it's image through the glass, bounced off of my chrome snare drum and projected itself on the only wall in my cabin that had it's back to the sun.
